Food for thought

This is an important concept to think about when learning or teaching anything new. I like to change the wording a little as I think if you don’t know something then you are unconscious of it but as you become aware of it and understand it through the layers it should be a partnership of conscious and Subconscious as you have trained yourself to create programs that can be switched on and initiated from a flinch or consciously triggered, an example of this is if you say “Kihon kata” you fire up a subconscious program that you follow. the quality of the program will obviously be a reflection of the amount of detail/understanding you put into the program.

when we learn new things that need to be added, we need to update or edit these programs and consciously reprogram the subconscious, we need to change our mind set, to give a comparison its like a computer programmer going into Bios to edit/debug a program before reinstalling it and running it in user mode.

I’ve been training with the SSKD since 2010 returning after a long break, I haven’t looked back since. Karate has a different effect on everybody but it’s helped me with strengthening my mind, composure, clearer mental capabilities and more self confidence. Not only does it strengthen the entire body it improves coordination, quickens reflexes, builds stamina and overall general health
